Tehran (IP) - The Deputy Chief of the Army For Coordination said that Iran's Navy would respond to any threat anywhere in the world.

Iran PressIran news: Explaining the progress of the army's strategic navy, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari further explained: "Since our presence in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb, we have escorted 5,000 Iranian merchant ships safely to their destinations."

He added: "During this period, we had about 255 clashes and rescued two hijacked Iranian and Chinese ships from pirates."

Rear Admiral Sayyari said: "We have also rescued 25 merchant ships from other countries."

He said: "Our 77th navy flotilla is currently in the Red Sea, adding: "The flagship of the Navy Fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran was the  75th navy flotilla, which sailed 45,000 kilometers, along 55 countries, 10 seas and 8 canals and  3 straits passed without docking at a port for food or refueling."

Rear Admiral Sayyari said: "Global arrogance had threatened many countries along this route that if the Iranian navy asked for mooring, they would not allow it, but we did not blindly ask any country to moor."
