Iran Press/ Iran news: Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi made the remarks on Sunday in response to Iran Press' question on the sidelines of the welcoming ceremony of the 75th Navy Flotilla.
"The naval mission had many features; one of which was its duration, during which the sailors experienced four different seasons within four months," he told Iran Press.
"They crossed the wild seas and did not use port services anywhere, relying only on themselves," he highlighted.
"Although they were subjected to intense political pressure and psychological warfare by the enemy, they crossed it and finally managed to cross the North Atlantic and defeat the enemy in terms of intelligence for a long time," he concluded.
In an unprecedented naval mission in Iran's history, the country's 75th Navy Flotilla, including its largest warship, IRINS Makran, and destroyer IRINS Sahand, accomplished its mission after returning to Iran and was officially welcomed by top Iranian commanders.
The two-ship Iranian Navy group returned home after traveling 44,000 km in the international waters through the West Coast of Africa and the Baltic Sea this summer and has returned home.
Iran's largest warship, IRINS Makran, and fully indigenized destroyer IRINS Sahand left the Middle East in May for a naval mission in the Indian Ocean, South Atlantic, and North Atlantic after 133 days of navigation to enhance naval authority, securing naval lines, and strengthening maritime diplomacy.
