IAEA Director-General to travel to Tehran

Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Mariano Grossi heading to Tehran, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the I.R. of Iran to the UN, Vienna tweeted.

Iran PressEurope: "Rafael Grossi will travel to Tehran this afternoon, Kazem Gharibabadi said.

"He will meet the Vice-President and Head of the AEOI tomorrow, and the two sides will issue a joint statement," the tweet reads.

Grossi's visit is in the framework of technical relations between Iran, IAEA

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman underscores that the IAEA Director-General's visit to Tehran will be in technical relations between Iran and the IAEA.

Regarding Rafael Grossi's mission in Tehran, Saeed Khatibzadeh said: " In recent months, there have been technical issues between Iran and the IAEA that have been resolved within the framework of bilateral cooperation."

Some countries tried to politicize technical issues between Iran, IAEA

Khatibzadeh said, "some countries tried to politicize technical issues between Iran and the IAEA. I hope that the IAEA Board of Governors, under the influence of some pressures, will not take any action that would destroy the normal cooperation between Iran and the IAEA."

Rafael Grossi will arrive in Tehran tonight (Saturday) and will meet tomorrow (Sunday) with the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami.
