Iranian and Russian officials during a recent joint economic commission meeting in Moscow, have discussed joining the Russian-made Sukhoi Super Jet 100 passenger planes into Iran's air fleet, said a Russian minister.

 

Tehran and Moscow signed nine memoranda of understanding and a cooperation document in the final day of the 14th Joint Economic Commission Meeting of Iran and Russia on Wednesday.

Quoting Alexander Novak, Russian Minister of Energy, the country's TASS news agency said that the two sides have also discussed selling the Sukhoi Super Jet 100 to Iran.

Iran's Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei, in January this year said that there is a serious determination in Iran to buy the Russian-made planes for its commercial fleet.

Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Masoud Karbasian, heading a 75-member delegation comprised of public and private sector officials went to Moscow Sunday morning to participate in the 14th Joint Economic Commission Meeting of Iran and Russia.
