The Turkish Defense Ministry said that 28 Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets were hit in northern Iraq’s Asos region, including bunkers, ammunition depots, and hideout caves.

Turkey's National Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday that the counter-terrorism operations against the PKK are underway.

Ankara, which considers the Kurdish separatist group as a terrorist organization, said that Turkish fighter jets destroyed 28 targets in northern Iraq's Asos region, Anadolu Agency reported.

"The Turkish Armed Forces will continue its fight against terrorism for the security of our country and nation until the last terrorist is neutralized," a ministry statement quoted by Anadolu said.
