Former US President Donald Trump has attacked Joe Biden for his handling of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, saying he didn't think in all of the years his country had ever been so humiliated.

Iran PressAmerica: "Nobody has ever handled a withdrawal worse than Joe Biden," Trump declared. "This is the greatest embarrassment, I believe, in the history of our country," Trump told Fox's Sean Hannity on Tuesday.

Trump said he had discussions with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar during negotiations. Baradar is now expected to play a key role in negotiations between the Taliban and officials from the Afghan government that the militant group deposed in its blitz across the country. The Taliban say they seek an "inclusive, Islamic" government and claim they have become more moderate since they last held power.

Baradar, the Taliban's top political leader, made a triumphal return to Afghanistan this week after battling the U.S. and its allies for decades but also signed a landmark peace agreement with the Trump administration. During the interview, Trump also said he had no confidence in the then Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. "I thought he was a total crook," Trump said. "He spent all his time wining and dining our senators and the senators were in his pocket."
