Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affair says the country's embassy and consulate-general in Kabul and Herat are open and active.

Iran PressIran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh announced on Tuesday that both the Iranian embassy in Kabul and the Iranian consulate general in Herat were open and working. 

Earlier, Khatibzadeh expressed concerns over the escalation of violation in Afghanistan and stressed the Taliban's preserving of the safety and security of the Iranian diplomats and diplomatic venues. 

He had noted: "The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with the diplomatic staff stationed at its embassy and consulate in Kabul and Herat, constantly monitoring developments."

The US forces are evacuating Afghanistan after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled to Uzbekistan as the Taliban is taking the control of the country's cities one by one.
