Helmand (IP): Lashkargāh which is the capital of Afghanistan's Helmand province has been under Taliban control.

Iran PressAsia: At the same time as the Taliban are present in the capital of Helmand province, some people in this area are leaving Helmand province.

In recent days, the Taliban have taken control of several cities and provinces of Afghanistan, advancing in different parts of Afghanistan, and the Taliban entered Herat, western Afghanistan, last Friday.

The Taliban also took control of the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif on Saturday night.

Pul-e-Charkhi Prison, Afghanistan's largest prison 33 km east of Kabul, is on the verge of falling to the Taliban, some sources said.

However, some other sources reported that Taliban forces attacked Pul-e-Charkhi prison on Saturday night and released its prisoners after heavy fighting with security forces.

The Taliban are calling for the resignation of President Ashraf Ghani's government to form an interim government.

The Taliban's pre-requisite for a six-month ceasefire and the formation of an interim government in Afghanistan is Ashraf Ghani's resignation.
