Iran Press/ Asia: In an interview with Iran Press on Saturday, Zabihulah Mujahid noted: "There is no violation of Consulates' security in Taliban-controlled cities, and their security is guaranteed."
Mujahid said the Taliban forces would not enter or harm Consulates.
Earlier on Friday, the Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, referred to the Taliban's takeover of the city of Herat and stressed that they must guarantee the complete health and security of diplomats and diplomatic facilities.
Mujahid also rejected the news saying that the United States, the Taliban, and Abdullah Abdullah were in talks over the head of the interim government in Afghanistan.
On February 29, 2020, in Doha, Qatar, the United States and the Afghan Taliban signed a peace agreement designed to end the long war in Afghanistan.
Violence has surged in Afghanistan since the US announced its troops will leave by Sept. 11. According to Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry, more than 250 civilian casualties, allegedly caused by the Taliban, were recorded in May. The insurgents, however, rejected the government’s claim.
