Tehran (IP) - Referring to the importance of developing Iran-Nigeria relations, the President said: "I hope the long-standing relations between the two countries will be further developed by using the existing capacities between the two countries and the two nations."

Iran PressIran news: "The two countries have good capacities in the fields of trade, agriculture, science and technology, and especially energy," Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday when receiving the credentials of the new Nigerian ambassador to Tehran, noting that the existing capacities should be used to the maximum in the interests of the two nations.

Referring to the good cooperation between Tehran and Abuja in international organizations, the President said: "There has always been coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the international arena, and this cooperation can further strengthen relations and bilateral relations in the direction of common goals."

The new Nigerian ambassador to Tehran, Yakubo Santuraki Suleiman, after presenting his credentials to the President, emphasized Nigeria's efforts to further strengthen relations with Iran, especially in the fields of trade, commerce, and agriculture, and said: "Nigeria wants to expand bilateral relations with Tehran."

The new Nigerian ambassador said that his country could be a big market for Iranian goods, adding: "We welcome the presence of Iranian companies to help develop Nigeria."
