President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that regional and international conditions require continuous cooperation and interactions between Iran and Qatar.

Iran Press/Iran news: Rouhani made the remarks in a phone conversation with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

The president termed the efforts for peace and stability in the region as one of the main policies Iran.

"The main challenge of the region is the militarism of some states and the Zionist regime, which we must try to remove the region from the situation," President Rouhani underlined.

"Today, the importance of moderation and rationality in the field of regional developments and the pursuit of a political solution to the crisis is felt more than ever before," he added.

"Iran has used all its capacity to advance UN efforts to bring peace to Yemen," he further noted. "The convergence of Muslim countries in resolving regional issues is a fundamental goal for Iran."

Both sides congratulated each other on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, describing the bilateral relations as constructive.

During the phone call initiated by the Iranian side, the Emir of Qatar also congratulated the government and people of Iran on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and described the relations between the two countries as very friendly and good.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani praised Rouhani's efforts in establishing warm and cordial relations between Tehran and Doha. 

Referring to the sensitive situation in the region, the Emir of Qatar said: "We believe that solving regional problems and conflicts has not a military solution, and the best way to solve problems is dialogue and political path, and we hope that all the countries in the region will work for peace and tranquility by strengthening cooperation."
