Iran-China trading volume should be doubled: MP

Tehran (IP) – Deputy chairman of the Iranian parliament's economic commission said the volume of exchanges between Iran and China should be doubled.

Iran PressIran News: In a meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Tehran Chang Hua, Ehsan Khandouzi stated that the practical response of Iran and China to neutralizing the US maximum pressure is to double the volume of trade between the two countries in the upcoming years.

He noted that the friendly and stable relations between Iran and China are strong support for enhancing mutual relations in the political, economic, and cultural fields, especially the parliamentary ones.

He also stressed the need for greater contribution in implementing the Iran-China Comprehensive Strategic Plan and the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation to facilitate the process of implementation of the 25-year agreement between the two countries.

The Chinese ambassador to Tehran also stated that the Chinese government welcomes and supports developing and strengthening friendly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Referring to the US withdrawal from the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive of Plan of Action) and the ongoing negotiations in Vienna, Chang Hua said: "The White House uses political and economic tools to interfere in the internal affairs of countries and imposes sanctions on them, and China strongly opposes this kind of behavior and considers the United States to be the main cause of the current situation."
