The new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Hossein Sadat Meidani, met with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Bucharest on Wednesday and presented him with his credentials.

Iran PressEurope: Sadat Meidani in this meeting, referring to the long history of bilateral relations between Iran and Romania, stated that Iran is fully ready to develop relations with Romania in all fields, including political, economic, energy, petrochemical and transportation.

Welcoming the new Iranian ambassador, Iohannis also wished him success and emphasized the support of the Romanian authorities in the activities of the Iranian ambassador during his tenure.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Romania have always had good historical and traditional relations, especially in the economic and trade fields. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the relations between the two countries continued to expand.

It is worth mentioning that the beginning of political relations between Iran and Romania dates back to 1280( Iranian Calendar)  and the reopening of the Iranian embassy in Bucharest and the dispatch of the first Iranian ambassador to Romania. 219
