New York (IP) - China has urged lifting the US sanctions on Iran at the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, saying that Washington must take the first step to return to the JCPOA without any preconditions.

Iran PressAmerica: Speaking at the UN Security Council held on Wednesday to discuss the UN Secretary-General's report on the implementation of resolution 2231, which endorsed the Iran nuclear deal or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCOPA), the Chinese representative said the US unilaterally withdrew from the deal, and it is up to Washington to take the first step to return to the agreement without any preconditions.

He also called on Iran to return to full compliance with the JCPOA.

The ambassadors of the different countries, including the five permanent states, addressed the meeting.
