Tehran (IP) - The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said that our effort is to fulfill the leader's guidelines to increase the country's nuclear power generation from 1000 megawatts to 20,000 to 30,000 megawatts.

Iran PressIran news: Ali-Akbar Salehi, in the Iranian parliament, referring to the long process of construction of Bushehr nuclear power plant said: "There were many reasons, including the need to connect west technology to the east one, which has been operating at a capacity of 1,000 MW for the past eight years."

Salehi said that the construction of a nuclear power plant is expensive, but it is cheap to continue its work, adding that the service life of a nuclear power plant is 60 to 70 years and that the average nuclear power plant fuel price is $ 30 to 40 million per 1,000 MW. 

He added: "Iran's leader has repeatedly emphasized two points about the nuclear industry; First, the nuclear industry guarantees reliable electricity for future generations, and second, It is a base for the authority of the Islamic Republic. In this regard, the Leader has repeatedly emphasized the country to reach the production target of 20,000 MW of nuclear power."
