Tehran (IP) - The spokesman for the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus says it is impossible to limit the COVID-19 virus behind the borders; the virus will surely spread and surge.

Iran PressIran news: In a press conference on the sidelines of  'No Tobacco Week,' Alireza Raisi told Iran Press, Bushehr, and Hormozgan provinces were the first infected places with two African and Indian viruses.

In Busher 14, West Azerbaijan 4, and Hormozgan, about 10 cases of S-African and Indian virus were identified, Alireza Raisi highlighted.

Fortunately, these provinces performed very well to contain the viruses and about 400 people who may have been in contact with infected ones, identified and tested. In total, so far, we have found about 84 cases in the country; there maybe even more," he said.

Raisi said: "As for the domestic vaccines, two domestically-produced COVID-19 vaccines, ‘Covo-Pasteur’ and ‘CovIran-Barakat’ are at a clinical trial, but speaking on the volume of production, ‘CovIran-Barakat’ vaccine is much higher to be used for the general vaccination of the country, but the vaccines we are looking for will enter the market from mid-July which we will receive five million doses of them."

Regarding the ‘Covo-Pasteur’ vaccine, although it is very successful, considering the production line and volume, it may not be able to be delivered more than 2 million by September or maybe or 4 million by the end of the current Iranian year, but from next year, the production will definitely be much higher, Raisi stressed.

"Expressing hope it reaches the mass production," Alireza Raisi said that Sputnik V is a joint project, that we are working on it.

According to Raisi, five Iranian vaccines have received the ethics code and have entered the clinical trials and phases 1 and 2.

Overall, based on the plans, it is predicted to vaccinate all target groups by the end of this year, the spokesman for the National Headquarters for Coronavirus Control said.
