Tehran (IP) - The Secretary-General of the Iranian Red Crescent Society reported the import of 7.5 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine into the country.

Iran PressIran news: Mohammad Hassan Qousian Moqaddam said that 7.5 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine would be imported to Iran by June 21.

Qousian Moqaddam said the Iranian Red Crescent Society made good use of its international capacity when it was very difficult to obtain a vaccine. 

He added that the body so far imported 2.5 million doses of vaccine to the country, but its commitment was to provide 10 million doses.  

"We interact with more than 192 countries, and facilitating the exchange of currency through this interaction is done in a better way by the Red Crescent Society," the Secretary-General of the Iranian Red Crescent Society said.

So far, 2,675,594 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 470,468 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 3,146,062 doses.
