Iran hails China for donating 250,000 doses of COVID vaccines

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman on Twitter described the donation of 250,000 coronavirus vaccines by the government of the People's Republic of China as a new symbol of the friendship between the two nations of Iran and China and appreciated the action of the Chinese government.

Iran PressIran News: Saeed Khatibzadeh wrote on Twitter in Chinese on Sunday that the old relationship between Iran and China has turned problems into an opportunity to strengthen relations.

Cooperation to curb the coronavirus reaffirmed the importance of the two countries' strategic relationship, he added.

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman went on to say that the donation of the vaccines by the government of the People's Republic of China was a new symbol of the friendship between the two nations.

The first consignment of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine named 'Sinopharm' arrived in Iran on Sunday. The shipment includes 250,000 doses of vaccine.

Simultaneously with the import of vaccines to Iran, the country has been trying to produce an Iranian COVID-19 vaccine named 'COVO-Iran Barekat,' and the first phase of its clinical trial has been completed.

Also, the human trials phase of another Iranian vaccine named 'Razi COV-Pars' started on Sunday.
