Iranian foreign minister’s senior assistant on political affairs and Sweden's special envoy for Yemen discussed the crisis in Yemen via video conference to find ways of cooperation to end the crisis in the war-torn country. .

Iran PressIran News: Ali Asghar Khaji and Peter Semneby discussed the crisis in Yemen and stressed the need for continued consultation and cooperation between the two sides to reach a political solution to end the Yemen crisis.

In a virtual meeting on Monday, the two officials reviewed the latest developments in the peace process in Yemen focused on regional tours. 

The negotiations and achievements of Peter Semneby's regional tour to Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, and Yemen, the issue of Yemen during the tour of the Iranian foreign minister and the latest consultations to draft the Yemen peace deal as well as the initiatives of Iran to resolve the Safer ship crisis were among the topics discussed during the meeting.

With the support of the United States, the UAE, and several other countries, Saudi Arabia has launched a military invasion of Yemen since March 2015.

The Saudi Arabia aggression in Yemen has so far killed more than 16,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands, and displaced millions of the Yemeni people.

The Saudi military aggression has also left the poor country of Yemen severely short of food and medicine.
