Tehran (IP) - The deputy chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament highlighted Iran and Saudi Arabia's high potentials, saying that the two countries should not be divided.

Iran PressIran News: On Iran-Saudi Arabia negotiations in Baghdad, Abbas Moghtadaei told Iran Press that if Saudi Arabia changes its policy to Islamic approaches, it will surely be welcomed by the Iranian side.

Speaking on the open session of the parliament held on 20th Apr 2021, Moqhtadaei added that Iran-Saudi Arabia's cooperation in international organizations could greatly contribute to the growth of Muslim countries.

"Iran has repeatedly told Saudi officials that their return to the Islamic Ummah could strengthen the entire Islamic world," noted the MP.

"Iran-Saudi relations have a strong effect on international and global relations," he underlined.

"The fact is that Iran, as one of the most powerful countries in the region and an emerging power, is trying to bring about Islamic unity," he stressed.

"Saudi Arabia must play its role and mission in this regard as an Islamic country," said the official.
