Iran Press/Europe: "Abbas Araghchi" in an interview after the Thursday meeting of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, emphasizing that Iran did not want erosive talks, noted that in practice it should be seen that there was an acceptable and reasonable acceleration to reach an agreement. Otherwise, Iran sees no reason to continue negotiations.
Araghchi further referred to the terrorist incident at the Natanz nuclear facility and said: "This incident is not something that can be easily ignored."
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that Tehran expected the countries to condemn this incident and this was a serious and right expectation, added that apart from Russia and China, three European countries not only did not do so, but in the area of sanctions, they added cases to it, and this caused the goodwill of the Europeans to be severely questioned by Iran.
Asked about the progress of the list of sanctions to be lifted and Iran's actions, Araghchi said: "The lists are being prepared. Iran's position is that all sanctions should be lifted and the list that is being prepared should be complete."
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that if the European parties and the United States were able to fulfill their obligations, then Iran would fulfill its obligations as well.
Following the unilateral and illegal withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (May 8, 2018), Iran tried to maintain the nuclear agreement on the condition that the other parties to the agreement fulfill their obligations, but the Europeans did not succeed in the practical measures promised to maintain the agreement.
In such circumstances, the Supreme National Security Council of Iran announced on May 8, 2019, on the anniversary of the US withdrawal from JCPOA, that Islamic Country will gradually reduce its obligations under Paragraphs 26 and 36 of this agreement in order to strike a balance between Iran's obligations and rights.
Iran has stressed that it is ready to return to its commitments if sanctions are lifted and Iran benefits from JCPOA.
Washington unilaterally and illegally withdrew from the JCPOA in May 2018 during Donald Trump's presidency, and since then, in addition to reinstating nuclear sanctions, has imposed extensive sanctions on Tehran, but the US newly elected President Joe Biden has expressed a desire to bring the United States back to the agreement; However, so far no practical action has been taken by the Biden government to return to JCPOA.
