Iran Press/ Europe: In an interview with the Russian Newspaper Vedomosti, Kazem Jalali said creating a north-south corridor could replace the Suez Canal more cheaply and reliably and ensure a smooth exchange of goods between Europe and the Far East.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran, in the framework of a specific and purposeful program, has seriously developed infrastructure and launched construction operations in recent decades and has achieved great achievements in this field," Jalali added.
According to him, as within the framework of establishing the very corridor, the formation of technical and specialized committees to fully identify the current situation and infrastructural bottlenecks, and remove hardware and software barriers, among all other obstacles, would be very effective.
