Industry Min: Iran stands among world's steel exporters countries

Tehran(IP): Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade said on Thursday that unlike the past when Iran was among the importers of steel, it turns out to be one of the major producers of the world's steel.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade said: "Once we were importers of steel, but today Iran is ranked as 11th steel producer among the countries playing a major role in the same field."

‌ Alireza Razm Hosseini, Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade of Iran on Thursday ‌during the videoconferencing inauguration of five national projects of the ministry at the credit of 4,530 billion tomans in five provinces of the country, by order of President Rouhani, ‌ added: ‌ The first project which has been put into operation on Thursday is related to the production of special alloy steel in the Esfarayen factory North-Eastern Iran, for which a new line has been launched.

He continued: "These special steels are used for seamless pipes in the industries of the country's oil and gas company, and in this regard, they will help in domestic production and the production of special alloy parts that will be opened today."

Stating that today a copper mine belonging to the private sector in Qazvin province is also being inaugurated Razm Hosseini added: ‌"Today, the private sector has gradually entered the field of copper, which also requires large investments, while Before the revolution, our production in this sector was zero, today it has reached 400,000 tons and we are even exporting copper to the world."
