Tehran (IP)- Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament condemned the US sanctions against Iran as hostile and oppressive, saying "European countries should not follow the US coercive and bullying policy."

Iran PressIran news: In a meeting with Ladislav Ballek, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Tehran, on Tuesday, Mojtaba Zonnouri said: "The United Nations have not imposed sanctions against Iran, and the source of these obstacles is the United States, which is pursued with maximum pressure, and if these sanctions were imposed on any other country, that country would have been destroyed by now."

Zonnouri stated Iran's parliament welcomes the interaction and cooperation with the Slovak Parliament in all fields, adding that the establishment of friendship-parliamentary groups is one of the parliament's strategic goals to activate relations between the two countries.

Stating that the terrorist and takfiri groups created by the US, Saudi Arabia, and some European countries, the Chairman said: "These groups are a threat not only to the region but also to Europe, and all countries have to try to create security and stability in the region." 

The Slovak Ambassador to Iran, Ladislav Ballek, saying that the image portrayed by the Western media of Iran is far from reality added, "Sanctions have strengthened and grown Iran in various dimensions and obstacles, and US sanctions have empowered the Islamic Republic in some areas."
