Iran, Swiss stress police cooperation

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Interpol chief and Swiss Ambassador to Tehran stressed the necessity to strengthen police diplomacy and exchange training delegations aimed at the common activities between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: In his meeting with Swiss envoy to Tehran Markus Leitner on Tuesday, Brigadier General Hadi Shirzad explained the pivots of Iranian police diplomacy and its international activities, saying that Iran's police had always been emphasizing perusing Iranian compatriots' expectations especially in those countries that were member states of Interpol. 

General Shirzad pointed to the good ties between Tehran and Bern's Interpol and called for pursuing common policy issues, including the prevention of trade in medical, food, and criminal products and effective addressing of extradition requests for fugitive offenders committing various crimes, especially transnational organized crime.

Leitner for his part stressed the expansion of Iran-Swiss police bilateral ties.
