Tehran (IP) - Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman announced on Tuesday that in the past 24 hours, 97 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 61,427.

Iran PressIran news: "According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to March 16, 2021, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 8,380 cases out of whom 889 patients were hospitalized," Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She noted that so far, 1,763,313 people in the country had contracted coronavirus, and 1,506,360 recovered.

3,848 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, according to the spokeswoman.

"So far, 11,846,528 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman added.

There are 9 red cities, 31 orange cities, 295 yellow cities, and 113 blue cities in the country, she concluded.
