Tehran (IP) - During his weekly press conference, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman referred to the attacks on an Iranian ship saying that the geographical location points the finger of blame at the Israeli regime.

Iran Press/Iran News: Answering a question about the attack on an Iranian ship in the Mediterranean and the possible involvement of Israel in the sabotage operation, Saeed Khatibzadeh said: "The spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces should make a detailed statement on this issue, but the geographical location of this sabotage operation points the finger of blame at the occupying regime of Israel."

He stated: "The Zionist regime has tried to destabilize the region whenever there is peace in the region. This regime has seen its life in war, crisis and unrest, and it still sees its life in war, crisis, and unrest. Whoever is involved in the operation, Iran will defend its rights."

An explosive hit an Iranian container ship in the Mediterranean Sea. The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line Group (IRISL Group) says the container ship was damaged in a terrorist attack on Wednesday.

Iran-IAEA relations

Reacting to the recent statements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi regarding Iran, he said the Agency should comment in a technical and impartial framework to maintain its relations with Tehran.

"The issue of monitoring Iran's nuclear activities is technical. Iran has provided the necessary access within the framework of safeguards. We had given other accesses within the framework of the Additional Protocol, which was suspended by a parliamentary resolution. The Agency should comment in a technical framework and comment impartially in order to maintain its relations with Iran," said Khatibzadeh.

Moscow summit on Afghanistan

Referring to the possibility of Iran's participation in the Moscow summit on Afghanistan and the presence of Pakistan's special envoy for Afghanistan, Khatibzadeh said: "We had close consultations with all countries about Afghanistan. It is natural for these consultations to take place within the framework of the Government of Afghanistan. The issue of attending the summit in Russia is also under consideration.”

Tehran Dialogue Forum

He also went on to say that the Tehran Dialogue Forum would be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

Iran not to talk with US directly or indirectly

In response to a question about the remarks by White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Khatibzadeh said: "We will not talk directly or indirectly with the United States, and the path to diplomacy is very clear. The United States, which has withdrawn from Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), must accept the conditions that it will not repeat this path again, and then it will be possible to speak within the framework of JCPOA.”
