Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign ministry spokesman says the second meeting of the Tehran Dialogue Forum will be held on Tuesday.

Iran Press/Iran News: According to Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, the meeting of the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2021 is scheduled to be held by the Center for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in webinar format.

Khatibzadeh added: “The second meeting of the Tehran Dialogue Forum will be held on Tuesday this week.”

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized that the meeting would be held virtually and online with the presence of participants from inside and outside the country due to the conditions caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Khatibzadeh stated that the event was aimed at discussing and exchanging views of senior political officials and heads of research institutes and think tanks from the region and the world on the situation in the region as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the Persian Gulf, Central Asia and the Caucasus, including Afghanistan.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran also mentioned paving the ground for a more accurate understanding of the existing processes and finding ways of cooperation in order to create peace and stability, security and welfare of the people of the region as other goals of the upcoming event.

Meetings of the opening and closing sessions of the forum will be broadcast live on Press TV, the FMA website, the Center for Political and International Studies, and related social networks.

The first meeting of the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2020 was held at Iran’s Foreign Ministry's Center for Political and International Studies with the participation of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and then-Omani Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alavi and former Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
