Navy commander:
Iranian new domestically produced hovercraft called Thunder

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Navy Commander announced joining the first home-made hovercraft to the Navy next year.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a speech to the commanders of the navy on Monday morning, Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said: "God willing, next year the first hovercraft made in the Islamic Republic of Iran will join the navy fleet."

The commander added: "Today, the navy is equipped with indigenous missiles, and God willing, missiles with vertical launching system (VLS) will be installed and operated on the surface vessels of the Navy."

Back in 2012, Iran revealed a new domestically produced hovercraft called "Thunder" that will operate in the Persian Gulf and can launch surveillance drones and missiles.
