37th round of International Quran competition kicks off in Tehran

Tehran (IP) - The 37th round of the International Quran Competition (the final stage) kicked off on Saturday evening in Tehran.

Iran PressIran news: This round of competitions has a unique feature since it is going to be held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic which was the creativity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

'One Book, One Ummah' is the motto of the 37th round of the International Quran Competition since this holy book is the cause of unity among all Muslims with various ethnicities and thoughts.

The inauguration ceremony of the final stage was held with the presence of the president of Endowment and Charity Affair Organization Mahdi Khamooshi and will last for five days.

411 participants from 67 countries competed in the competition, of which 122 participants from 45 countries entered the second round.

The biggest event of the Islamic world has the most participants from Africa and then Asia.

More than 2.5 million people have watched the previous stages through the Internet and it is predicted that between 6 to 8 million people will watch the final stage through the Internet.
