Yerevan (IP) - The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Yerevan and the Minister of Defense of Armenia emphasized the expansion of multilateral cooperation.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iran's ambassador to Yerevan, Abbas Badakhsahn Zohuri, and Armenian Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan held a meeting on Monday to discuss the multilateral cooperation between the two sides.

During the event, Harutyunyan together with the Iranian envoy also conferred on the Nagorno Karabakh latest development.

Earlier Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had said in a meeting with Armenian senior officials that Armenia's territorial integrity served as Iran's red line and the Iranian Armenian borders have always meant borders of friendship and cooperation.

The conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region began in 1988 and escalated into a military conflict in 1992.

A new round of clashes between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia resumed in the Nagorno-Karabakh region on September 27, 2020, killing a number of two warring sides.
