Russian representative considers IAEA-Iran agreement important

Russia's permanent representative to international organizations called the recent agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran an important achievement.

Iran PressEurope: Mikhail Ulyanov tweeted Monday night: "Common understandings reached by Iran and IAEA yesterday constitute a significant achievement. It will ensure a sufficient level of verification even after the suspension of AP (Additional Protocol) and a better atmosphere for political efforts to restore full implementation of JCPOA (The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) congratulations."

Earlier, Rafael Grossi, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, who visited Iran, told a news conference at Vienna airport: "After intensive consultations, we have achieved good results."

He stressed: "Iran will continue to implement the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement. We have reached an interim technical mutual agreement under which the Agency will continue its verification and oversight for the next three months."
