Tehran (IP) - Spokesman for Iran's National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus said despite sanctions on the country which prevented the access to technological and financial resources, Iran had successfully produced the COVID-19 vaccine.

Iran Press/Iran News: Alireza Raisi elaborated on how the sanctions had brought innumerable challenges for the country amid the coronavirus pandemic and its fast mutation, saying that Iran's success in the medical sectors was significant.

Speaking at the inauguration of "Infection Control for Emergency Response Personnel" (ICERP) held at the Health Ministry, Raisi stated that despite sanctions and the challenges to access anti-coronavirus materials, Iran acted perfectly inside the country and in the region to contain the virus.

He noted that Iran intended to increase its laboratories' security and promote a safe environment for medical staff and enhance the quality and quantity of diagnostic COVID-19 kits.
