Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Health spokeswoman announced on Tuesday that 1,534,034 people in the country had been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,310,821 recovered.

Iran PressIran News: "According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to February 16, 2021, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 8,011 cases, out of whom 690 patients were hospitalized," Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She noted that in the past 24 hours, 89 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 59,117.

3,696 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, according to the spokeswoman.

So far, 10,161,499 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman pointed.

According to the latest reports, 9 cities are currently in red, 39 cities are in orange, 228 cities are in yellow, and 172 cities are in the blue zone.

The cities of Abadan, Ahvaz, Bandar Mahshahr, Dezful, Dasht-e Azadegan, Shadegan, Shushtar, Karun and Hoveyzeh are in the red zone.
