The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, stated that Iran's active diplomacy is moving forward and the region is the top priority in this country's foreign policy.

He said: "Over the past week, I have met with Martin Griffiths, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, and today with Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani."

Zarif emphasized that the region is Iran's top priority, and he added the deputy foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey and Russia will meet in Sochi on Tuesday to advance the Astana process.

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Ali Asghar Khaji, Senior Assistant Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs of Iran, arrived in Moscow on Monday evening to participate in the 15th International Meeting of Senior Experts of the Astana Process.

The review of the latest developments in Syria in various fields will be the main focus of the talks between the representatives of Iran, Russia and Turkey in the two-day meeting which will be held in Sochi, Russia.

The 15th Astana Talks will be attended by representatives of the guarantor countries, including Turkey, Russia and Iran along with representatives of the Syrian government and the opposition group, as well as the UN representative to Syria.
