IRAN (IP)- "The United States has failed to form a global superpower or American hegemonic power," a top military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.

Iran press/ Asia: Speaking on Monday at a conference on "Geostrategic and Geopolitical Developments in Southwest Asia in the 21st Century" in Tehran,  Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, top military aide to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, added: "The United States has failed to form a global superpower for economic supremacy, military capability, and political management of the world, even on ideological and cultural issues."

Referring to the reasons for the decline of US power, the Advisor added: "By occupying Afghanistan and Iraq, the United States gave its rivals China and Russia the opportunity to overtake the United States economically and militarily, and this led to the decline of the United States."

"We are witnessing a shift in power worldwide, and power is moving from the West to the East," the former IRGC's commander highlighted.

"Economic power will return to Asia, and China, India, and Russia will gain economic, security, and military power over the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)," stressed the major general.
