Konarak (IP) - The Iran-Russia second joint naval drills named 'Marine Security Belt 2021' will commence tomorrow (Tuesday) in the North Indian Ocean.

Iran Press/Iran News: The sea surface and flight units of the Iranian and Russian navies will participate in the drills.

The drills' purpose is to strengthen security in the region and expand cooperation between Iran and Russia. The exercise will be based on pre-arranged programs in the North Indian Ocean.

Various tactical exercises such as rescuing the burning vessel, releasing the attacked ship, shooting specific targets, and other tactical and operational practices are foreseen in these drills.

The drills' objectives include strengthening the security of international maritime trade, combating piracy, the exchange of information in maritime rescue operations, and the exchange of operational and tactical experiences.
