Iran-Russia naval drill shows armed forces' naval authority: Official

Tehran (IP) - Deputy Chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination announced the holding of a joint Iranian-Russian naval drill in the North Indian Ocean, saying that it demonstrates the armed forces' naval authority.

Iran Press/Iran News: Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari referred to the holding of the second Iran-Russia drill in southern Iran and stated: "It contains a clear message when the powerful Russian Navy conducts drills with the Iranian Navy and the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps."

He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy was at the world naval powers' level in equipment, workforce, technique and tactics, guidance and control, communication, and access to new equipment.

According to Rear Admiral Sayyari, the joint drill aims to establish security in the North Indian Ocean.
