Kazem Gharibabadi

Vienna (IP) - Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vienna based international organizations stated in a message that one of the most important manifestations of the Islamic Revolution has been the changes in the field of the foreign policy of Iran, which has led to the formation of an independent, active and innovative policy.

Iran PressEurope: On the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vienna based UN agencies and international organization Kazem Gharibabadi wrote in a message: "Forty-two years ago, with the sacrifices made by the Iranian people and under the leadership of a great figure in the history of the country, Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Revolution of Iran was accomplished on February 13, 1979."

"Independence, freedom, and the Islamic Republic were the three main demands of the Iranian nation, derived from the mottoes of the people during the Islamic Revolution, for which the Iranian government and people have made great sacrifices over the past four decades. Denial of any foreign dominance has been one of the fundamental principles of the Iranian revolution," he added.

According to Gharibabadi, establishing a democratic government system based on Islamic values and elements of Iranian culture was another goal of the people, which was achieved by setting the Islamic Republic through a referendum to determine the ruling system of the country and the Iranian people, including women and men chose their destiny for the first time.

Gharibabadi added: "Undoubtedly, in addition to outstanding achievements in different fields during the past four decades, one of the most important manifestations of the Islamic Revolution has been the changes in the area of the foreign policy of Iran, which has led to the formation of an independent, active and innovative foreign policy, based on the three principles of dignity, wisdom and expediency and two concrete and inviolable pillars of not interfering in the affairs of others and not allowing others to interfere in the internal affairs of the country.

"Based on these values, we work tirelessly in different international organizations here in Vienna to promote multilateralism, the rule of law, and cooperation among states in various areas, from nuclear technology to outer space. We also try to denounce and oppose unilateral compulsion, including inter alia, the unilateral coercive measures against international law. I call upon all of you to join us in this endeavor," he noted.
