Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned two terrorist bombings in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad today that killed and injured several innocent citizens.

Iran PressIran News: Expressing the sympathy of the Iranian government and people with the families of the victims, Saeed Khatibzadeh condoled the Iraqi government and people and prayed for the martyrs of the attack, and wished a fast recovery for the injured.

Once again the Takfiri terrorism is targeting Iraq and trying to disrupt the peace and stability of the country and provide an excuse for the continued presence of foreign troops, he stated.

He stressed the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Iraqi government and security apparatus to provide security, arrest and punish perpetrators and vanish the roots of Takfiri thoughts.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past, is ready to provide any assistance to the Iraqi brothers in the fight against terrorism and extremism," Khatibzadeh noted.

Twin suicide bombs rocked a busy market in central Baghdad on Thursday morning, killing at least 35 and wounding 73 others.

A suicide bomber blew up his explosive belt in a crowded market in Bab al-Sharji area, and a second one detonated his a few minutes later in the same market, sources said.
