Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations said that the era of those who were boasting the policy of maximum pressure in the hope of bringing Iran to its knees is over.

Iran PressAmerica: In response to  Donald Trump's presidency, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in his Twitter said that Trump's anti-Iranian team used the policy of maximum pressure against the Iranian people to force them to surrender while all their efforts failed.

He added: "Iran's reality can not be ignored and all efforts to weaken it have failed.

Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations continued: "Is the new US administration learning from the hostility, ignorance and failures of the past?" Time will tell, he emphasized.

Following its illegal withdrawal from the UN Security Council (May 8, 2018), the United States has launched a comprehensive campaign to put pressure on Iran.

By withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and pursuing a policy of "maximum pressure campaign", Trump had promised to persuade Iran to come to the negotiations to reach a "better deal," he said.

As Trump's four-year presidency ended, he failed to achieve that goal.

Donald Trump lost the presidential election with 232 electoral college votes against Joe Biden's 306, and on Wednesday while leaving Washington alone, none of his government officials were present to say goodbye to him. 219
