In a statement on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said: "Russia's Strategic Missile Forces (RUSS), as well as all Russian nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile launchers, will be equipped with advanced digital technology by 2020."
The statement said: "The speed with which new samples of telecommunications equipment are delivered to units of the Russian Armed Forces has allowed all of the strategic missile units to switch to digital data transmission by the end of 2020."
In the last four years, digital information transmission systems have been delivered to units of Russia's strategic missile force, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
At present, the headquarters of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces and its subordinate missile divisions are equipped with digital equipment that enables better use and excellent efficiency of missile units.
