The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that the uranium enrichment of 20% at the Fordow site has begun.

Iran PressIran news: In an interview, Behrouz Kamalvandi said: "20% enrichment has started at Fordow and has reached a stable level."

Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi stated that this event was in line with the implementation of a strategic action to lift the sanctions, adding: "This action was taken in order to protect the rights of the Iranian people and this was completed in 12 hours."

Kamalvandi, noting that in 2010 Iran had produced 20% fuel and the ability is not a new one, added: "We have the ability to enrich more than 20% easily and we are considering it."

Referring to the order of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, to implement the law on strategic action to lift the sanctions, the spokesman of the Iranian government, Ali Rabiee also stated: "Pre-processing of gas injection has started at Fordow site and today (Monday) the first UF6 enriched uranium product will be obtained."

The Law on Strategic Action for Lifting Sanctions includes 9 articles that require the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to enrich by 20%, increase the enriched uranium reserves of the Islamic Republic of Iran and use the new generation of IR2M and IR6 centrifuges. 219
