Islamic Movement in Nigeria, led by Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaki said in the statement that General Soleimani was a hero of coordination between the Christian and Muslim religions, leading victory over ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Iran PressAfrica: The IMN spokesman Ibrahim Musa said that the US assassination of Lieutenant General Ghasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was in violation of international law, the UN Charter, and a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

He made the remarks on the occasion of the first anniversary of the US assassination of top Iranian and Iraqi anti-terror commanders.

According to the Nigerian Daily Post, Musa noted that the commemoration of Martyr Soleimani at the Aleppo Evangelical Church in Syria is a tribute to his efforts in unity and solidarity between different religions.

Referring to the changing political climate in the Middle East, the Nigerian Islamic Movement added, "The tyrannical powers have desperately struggled to maintain their hegemony and have resorted to disappointing measures such as the assassination of Haj Ghassem Soleimani or Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a prominent Iranian nuclear scientist."

"The US presence in the Middle East will not last long," the statement concluded.
