Iran Press/Iran News: Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi, who has been suffering from a gastrointestinal illness for a long time, passed away at 86 on Friday.

I received the news of the death of Ayatollah Haj Sheikh Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi, a great scholar, and jurist, with great regret. This is a loss for the seminary and the field of Islamic knowledge. He was an outstanding thinker, a competent manager, with an eloquent language in expressing truth and perseverance in the straight path.
His services in the production of religious thought and the writing of pioneering books, and in the training of distinguished students, and in the revolutionary presence in all fields where he felt the need for his presence, are truly and justly unique.
Piety has always been his characteristic from his youth to the end of his life, and the success of conduct through monotheistic knowledge is a great divine reward for this great figure.
While I mourn for this old and dear brother, I offer my condolences to the dear family and righteous children and his relatives, as well as to the students and devotees of this great teacher and to the seminary, and I ask for his exaltation and divine forgiveness and mercy for him. 101
