Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with the head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, Faeq Zidan on Tuesday, Seyyed Ebrahim Ra'isi, the head of Iran's judiciary, thanked the Iraqi judiciary for investigating the assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis. The head of the Iranian judiciary called the security of Iran and Iraq inseparable. It said: "We are now witnessing the serious will of Iran and Iraq to fight against tensions and insecurity."

Stating that the purpose of the assassination of Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis was to stop Iran and Iraq's progress, the judiciary head said: Iran wants punishment without discrimination and exception, of the killers of these two martyrs.

He called the US President a common enemy of the Iranian and Iraqi nations. He said that the Iraqi parliament's decision to expel the Americans would guarantee the security of Iraq.

The US presence in the region has achieved nothing but insecurity and has caused unrest in the region.

Faeq Zidan, the head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, for his part, stressed the need for non-discriminatory justice in the case of the martyrs' assassination Soleimani, Abu Mahdi, and their companions.

Faeq Zidan said: "We are witnessing the mourning ceremonies of two martyrs in Iraq and Iran and we see that the photos of the two martyrs are put together in these ceremonies, which shows the unity and common destiny of the two countries."

"The Iraqi government is now moving towards implementing the parliament's resolution on the withdrawal of American troops," Zidane said, adding that there was no need for foreign troops to provide security.
