Tehran (IP) - the first Iranian- made coronavirus vaccine was tested on the daughter of the head for The Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO) headquarters in Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: Today was one of the most promising days for the Iranian nation after the long efforts of the country's leading scientists to produce the COVID-19 vaccine after several experiments on animal models, which was the first injection of the vaccine in humans, the Iranian health minister said.

He added that this injection was performed on the daughter of the head of Iran’s Headquarters for Executing the Order of Imam to send a message to the Iranian nation that no family is dearer than the working family in the farthest parts of the country.

Emphasizing that the production process of the Coronavirus vaccine started based on national strength, Saeed Namaki stated that we have been producing vaccines in the region for 100 years.

He noted that those who think that Iran is the first time that Iran produces a vaccine are wrong, Pasteur and Razi were based 100 years ago.

"Iran has been the first vaccine producer in Asia, and we have exported to other countries", Namaki pointed.

He concluded that with the help of knowledge-based companies, Pasteur and Razi institutes Iran would make new vaccines.
