Hezbollah Secretary General said Islamic Revolution of Iran, since its victory in 1979, has consistently supported the oppressed and revived the spirit of resistance in the region, and will always be victorious thanks to such leadership and nation.

Why it matters:

Islamic Revolution is proved to be an influential movement that still after nearly 5 decades is inspiring the world's nations to seek independence against the world's arrogant powers led by the U.S.

What he's saying:

  • Sheikh Naim Qassem said the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran has consistently supported the oppressed and revived the spirit of resistance across the region.
  • Iran has endured 47 years of pressure yet remains “steadfast, dignified, and proud,” he noted, describing Iran as a global beacon of hope for the oppressed and a central supporter of Palestine’s liberation.
  • Qassem emphasized what he called Iran’s victories in successive confrontations, particularly against Israeli aggression thanks to the Iranian people’s faith in justice and resistance and Ayatollah Khamenei's leadership.
  • On Lebanon, Qassem stressed that no party has the right to impose disarmament, stressing that such demands serve the interests of Israel and the United States rather than the Lebanese state and people.
  • He said the resistance has repeatedly filled the gap when the state was absent or when the army lacked sufficient capacity to defend the country, describing resistance as a necessity—not a choice—to ensure Lebanon’s security and safeguard future generations.
  • He said that Israel is weaker than ever, asserting that it has failed to achieve its goals in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen despite extensive military power and international backing.
  • He also portrayed the United States as declining in influence, saying it gains “nothing but more enemies” from its policies.

Context:

Sheikh Naim made the remarks on Tuesday, during the memorial ceremony for the martyr of jihad and resistance, Haj Ali Salhab (Haj Malik).
Haj Malik joined the resistance in 1983 and participated with competence and determination in many operations before and after liberation of Lebanon. He also had an effective role in confronting Daesh.
