Why it mattes:
The release indicates that Iranian intelligence have a precise understanding of the situation, those behind the riots, and the agents executing the U.S.-Israeli-backed plots.
The big picture:
In recent days, Iran has witnessed a wave of unrest involving armed terrorists and rioters. According to Iranian officials, these groups are supported by the United States and Israel.
Following the failure of Washington and Tel Aviv to incite public unrest or destabilize the Islamic Republic through previous political and media efforts, these armed terrorists and rioters attempted to fuel internal chaos and insecurity through violent means.
What we're hearing:
Brigadier General Nasirzadeh: "Joint meetings were held in one of the regional countries, during which U.S. intelligence services and some Western agencies presented their dedicated plans to increase funding with the aim of creating disorder inside Iran. In that meeting even specific prices for acts of destruction in Iran were set: 500 million tomans for killing an individual, 200 million tomans for setting a vehicle on fire, 80 million tomans for attacking police stations, and 15 million tomans for other disruptive actions."
"Lower‑level participants were reportedly killed by their own group leaders in order to create casualties and provoke public emotions, often through close‑range shootings to the head. There were also targeted attacks on public property and people’s assets."
"Another feature of these riots was the attacks on military and government headquarters. Military bases, governorates, and state broadcasting centers were all set on fire. Their goal was to seize weapons from these locations and use them during the unrest."
"Just as security can be contagious, insecurity can also spread. We will use every necessary measure to suppress the rioters inside the country, but we may not be able to prevent the spillover of these elements beyond our borders, similar to the case of ISIS, whose attacks and threats extended even into Europe."
"Some of our security personnel were severely harmed, yet we still exercised restraint. ... You must have seen that American woman whose four‑year‑old child fell by the roadside and was killed simply because a police vehicle reversed. Where else do you see this level of restraint?"
What they're saying:
Iranian officials view the armed riots and terrorist attacks as part of a coordinated campaign by the United States and Israeli regime to destabilize the Islamic Republic after failing to incite unrest through political and media pressure.
