Held Friday evening at the “Ressalat” Cultural Center in Ghobeiry, the event drew wide artistic and cultural participation, featuring screenings of nominated works and the announcement of the first winners.
Organizers described the festival as a foundational step toward building a sustainable cultural project, one that reflects resilience and creativity in a region facing ongoing challenges.
Producers and filmmakers emphasized that the format of ultra‑short films, already popular worldwide and particularly in Iran, offers a unique space for expression, especially for communities recovering from conflict. With contributions from children, youth, and amateurs, the festival underscored the ability to convey powerful messages in just 100 seconds.
Participants voiced hope that “Short Thread” will grow into an annual, international event, opening new horizons for short cinema across Lebanon and the Arab world.
